We are now entering the Brazilian breadbasket as we head through Rosario Oeste then connect to Route 970. On 970 east/southeast into the state of Goias until reaching the Brazilian capital of Brasilia.
Braslia was made the capital (moved from Rio) in part to assist the development of the interior of the country, and though the area around Brasilia is not densely populated, the city itself is relatively modern and a destination point. The city interestingly was laid out in the shape of an airplane in the 1950s but in most ways plays second fiddle to Rio.
We navigate directly south from the city on Route 436 to the town of Cristalina, then to the other side of Cristalina for the evening.
A total of 19,115 miles collected - we are back to over 12,000 average steps per day from an even 200 stepping participants. The end game is in site.
