To all,

We survived the election and are now waiting for all results to be tabulated.  As a total group we averaged just under 12,800 steps, which is excellent.

The following are the top 25 individuals in the contest (personally, my feet hurt just looking at these numbers!!!) in terms of average steps per day, with at least 20 days registered:

Steve Hunte                          Morris Caribbean                 40,595
Hunter McCumber               Statesboro                             33,160

And a big kudos to Great Bend who again blew away the participation rankings with 23 individuals logging more than 20 days!!!  And if you think the upcoming Tennessee-Kentucky football game is competitive this year, take a gander at WTVQ and WDEF slugging it out for bragging rights – WOOHOO!  The top 15 groups as of 11/10/16 are as follows:

Step 10 Challenge:  Wellness Injection to Survive the Election - Update

10/20/2016

To all,

An update through Sunday, October 16 (one week of results), assuming most daily steps have been input.  95 individuals (so far) are actually tracking their average steps, AND WE AS A GROUP ARE AVERAGING OVER 13,000 STEPS PER DAY.  DYNAMITE!!!  The standings by team:

Morris Caribbean 30,888
Statesboro 23,359
Hinesville  20,298
Corporate 17,306  (woohoo!)
WCBI  16,129
Great Bend 13,446
WDEF  12,882
Oakdale  12,810
WTVQ  12,636
WWAY  11,734

Also, Wisconsin, Covington, Morris Technology and WXXV are all averaging over 10,000 steps per day.  A capital WOOHOO!

My Personal Pledge (that has the promise to impress all…except Steve Hunte and the rest of our top 10) – if the Cubs win the World Series, I will do a 40,000 day before this challenge is over and end it with the ice bucket challenge…and not die in the process.

Individual masters of the stepping universe (with 7 days):

Steve Hunte                          Morris Caribbean     43,488 (We Are Not Worthy!!!)
Hunter McCumber               Statesboro                 33,329
Marlin Nesmith                     Statesboro                 31,582
Sheila Jones                        WCBI-TV                   26,164
Dale Hogg                             Great Bend                25,865
Tyler Swank                          Great Bend                23,307
Shonita Swank                    Great Bend                21,747
Patty Leon                             Coastal Courier        20,297
Annette Benton                    Covington/Mike’s     19,874
Richard Kurazawa               Corporate                  18,816

Kudos to Great Bend for the best participation (again) in the group with 25 participants.  Just awesome.

It has definitely been more challenging with this time of the year more busy than some of the others, but that’s why it’s called a Challenge!!!

Thank you for your time and interest!

Jeff

New Competition Starting Soon!

10/3/2016

To all,

To continue with our wellness initiative and to give us all a distraction from this election season, Morris in Motion will launch a Fall 2016 contest starting October 10.

The challenge will run through November 13 and will award two team and two individual prize winners – team with the most average steps and team with the most average step improvement over the original contest in the spring of 2015, and individuals with the same.  We’ll also award the individual with the most average steps as well as individual with the greatest improvement.

Local contests are also encouraged, though many of you are already doing so.

The contest is open to employees, spouses and dependents.  If you need additional pedometers, let Jennifer Delgado-Cruz know as soon as you can.

We will continue to use the step equivalent chart attached, but this challenge will be a “motion” challenge – we will not include “standing desk equivalents” this go around.

Use the following link to register (you will need to re-register) and choose the proper location to do so.

Morris Multimedia (Start Page)
http://www.cornerstonefitness.com/morrisinmotion/10ksteps.html

-Individuals should go ahead and fully register into the program for review and testing.  Make sure to choose the correct team you will join for the challenge.
-Note: Participants will not be able to report steps until official start date of 10/10/16.

We will continue to update both via e-mail and through our wellness website, as follows:

http://www.mmiwellness.com/

Hope to see one and all on the start line.  Have a great time, but make sure to hydrate!

Step 10 From Rio: 6/18 - USA, USA, USA

6/22/2016

Picture

Departing the Bay of Campeche, the wellness stepping horde heads west then north-ish on route 145D until connecting to route 180, hugging the Gulf of Mexico on our right through Veracruz, Ozulama and then the state of Tamaulipas before, at mile #805, reaching Brownsville, Texas, back in the USA with one day to spare.   Celebrations abound.  An amazing trip and a terrific, dedicated group to do it with.

Onward we trek through Texas on US 77 to around the Corpus Christi area, then north/northwest on I-37 to the riverwalk city of San Antonio, some great food to sustain us, then north/northeast on I-35 through the capital in Austin before ending our 1,237 miles trek for the day in Temple, Texas, a stone's throw from Waco.

Awesome job by the group - the following are the top 18 for the seven days ending on June 18:

Sebastian Wee - Gainesville - 154  miles
Samantha Funk - Great Bend - 108 miles
Heather Griffin - Forsyth County - 107 miles
Mary Hoisington - Great Bend - 106 miles
Marlin Nesmith - Statesboro - 100 miles
Sheila Jones - WCBI - 99 miles
Daniel Kiewel - Great Bend - 95 miles
Debbie Purvis - Barrow Co. - 88 miles
Shonita Swank - Great Bend - 83 miles
Tyler Swank - Great Bend - 80 miles
Jana Hestand - Great Bend - 74 miles
James Audus - Great Bend - 73 miles
Mark Swendra - Morris Technology - 72 miles
Tyler Stone - Morris Technology - 69 miles
Jeff Samuels - Corporate - 69 miles
Hunter McCumber - Statesboro - 63 miles
Diane Lacy-Trostle - Great Bend - 62 miles
Patricia Leon - Hinesville - 57 miles

Next stop - Great Bend, Kansas - woohoo!
